I have two worries in my life.
1) If I will ever die marrying the love of my life.
2) If I will ever die finish reading books I own.
I told this to the love of my life and he said,
“I can solve worry no. 1, but worry no.2 will only be resolved if you stop buying anymore books,”
Yeah right. Like that will happen.
I’ve seen in places such as Goodreads and other places as well, the habit of re-reading certain books. I don’t really do that due to few reasons. One of which is, I have a book challenge to fulfill by end of every year. Secondly, I really do have many books in my possession that needs me to read. Thirdly, we are back to my worry no.2, I want to finish reading everything I own! However, it really took me as surprise when someone really could take the time to read a book for the 2nd or even 3rd time.
But Oscar Wilde once said,
If one can’t enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading at all
Although, currently I am also rereading a book- The Help by Kathryn Stockett who by the way is extremely brilliant! This however, makes me feel so, very guilty. Every time I take a look at my haul of books, it almost feels like they are calling out to me, “Satthiya, when will you read me?”
Drama, I know.
But, what do you think? Would you encourage reading a book for the 2nd or 3rd time? Share with me what you think! I am waiting!
